Sirius is also known as the Dog Star and is the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major or The Greater Dog.
The special stones in this necklace are green garnet and pink chalcedony. Green garnet is associated with manifesting abundance and prosperity. Pink chalcedony is associated with inner calm and centeredness. Together, they make a nice complement. Sirius is the brightest star in the northern hemisphere night sky. It is about focus, letting go of the old, strong beliefs and ideals, and personal integrity.
The design of the necklace is linked to the number seven on many levels both physical and metaphysical. Seven, as in the seven-pointed star, is a mystical number. It is also the number of introspection and inner wisdom. If we begin with the pearls at the back, there are 16 (1 + 6 = 7) on each side. Next, there are 16 green garnets (1 + 6 = 7). If we add the green garnet to the six pink chalcedony stones we get another 7. There are seven pearls attached to seven pieces of chain (six hanging in front and one by the clasp). Each piece of chain has seven links.
