There is something infinitely healing

in the repeated refrains of nature.
~ Rachel Carson

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet
and the winds long to play with your hair.
~ Khalil Gibran

There are virtually no 90º angles in nature. At least there are no more 90º angles than there are 83º or 61º or any other degree angles. How very different that is from the walls and ceilings of our homes and offices, from our desks and computer screens, fences and boxes. While 90º angles fit together well and serve us is so very many ways, they give us merely one form of harmony.

Whether in a wheat field or a forest, by a lake, or in your own back yard, another form of harmony arises from patterns of nature in motion, nature’s healing embrace. Some visual examples are grass waving, clouds moving across the sky, sunlight shimmering on water, the stars, rain and snow falling, the leaves of a tree or its leafless branches in winter. Some audio examples are the wind rustling through the pines, birdsongs, rain hitting the ground or water, and thunder.

What all of these patterns have in common is that they, just by their very existence, offer us harmonious, healing frequencies. At a deep level we all know this experience of being both mesmerized and comforted by the sight of a beautiful sunset, the sound of ocean waves, the fragrance of spring lilacs, the taste of a tomato newly plucked from the vine, the feel of the cool fresh air of an autumn night. We find ourselves moving a bit more slowly and breathing differently. Perhaps even sighing now and then.

Even though we experience patterns of nature in motion with our five senses, these patterns also offer us healing frequencies that go far beyond our hearing, sight, taste, touch, and smell. Each of us has an energy field that surrounds us – an aura. Given the turbulent realities of our world these days and, at times, the intense experiences of our daily lives, ‘stuff’ can get stuck and build up in the aura. Patterns of nature in motion are the most natural and non-toxic way to clear and cleanse the aura. That’s why we feel more in harmony with our lives when we commune with nature anywhere and at any time.

The goal of life is to make your heartbeat
match the beat of the universe,
to match your nature with Nature.
~ Joseph Campbell
